Available as Non-heated or Heated glass (with defroster grid), or Custom economy window (AS-6 40 gauge clear vinyl)
We guarantee the zipper halves on our tops & windows match when purchased together. When ordering the glass curtain or top separately, we send each unit with a FULL zipper ( both halves) in the event of non matching zippers on your old unit. The new half would need to be sewn on to replace the old unit.
THE GLASS REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLY REQUIRES THE RE-USE OF THE MOUNTING PLATES FROM YOUR ORIGINAL GLASS. (CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE)
THESE PLATES WERE MOUNTED TIGHTLY IN BOTH LOWER CORNERS OF THE GLASS AT THE FACTORY. THE PLATES CONNECT TO THE SPRING LOADED ARMS IN THE WELL - THE GLASS MUST BE HOOKED TO THE SPRING LOADED ARMS. THESE ARMS PULL THE GLASS BACKWARDS, OUT OF THE WAY OF THE TOP FRAME WHEN THE TOP IS BEING LOWERED.
IF THESE ARMS ARE NOT ATTACHED TO THE
GLASS - BREAKAGE IS GUARANTEED TO OCCUR.

Glass has broken due to incorrect mounted position of the spring arm plates - the glass was unable to pull back far enough to allow the glass to be out of the way of the top frame

ASSEMBLY ONLY, NOT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP.
DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE TOP FRAME - THE FRONT EDGE OF THIS CURTAIN EXTENDS FAR FORWARD AND ATTACHES TO THE BOW JUST BEHIND THE FRONT SEAT, UNLIKE EARLIER WINDOW DESIGNS WHICH FASTEN TO THE REAR BOW DIRECTLY ABOVE THE WINDOW . (THE ZIPPER IS MEANT TO ATTACH THE TOP AND WINDOW ASSEMBLY TOGETHER, NOT TO ENABLE THE WINDOW TO BE LOWERED.) |
