WE USE FACTORY ORIGINAL STYLE SEPARATING ZIPPERS IN OUR WINDOW ASSEMBLIES:

#5 HEAVY DUTY BRASS - ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT FOR 1971-1976 GM SCISSORS FRAMES ONLY

#10 HEAVY DUTY BRASS – ALL DOMESTIC MODELS UP TO 1973

#8 OR # 10 NYLON COIL – FORD 1983-93, SAAB 1987-94, SUV

#8 OR #10 MOLDED/PLASTIC –CHRYSLER 1982-1995, JEEP, SUV

 FOR ECONOMIC REASONS, SOME AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS USE THE “MOLDED PLASTIC” OR MARINE STYLE ZIPPERS ON ALL OF THEIR WINDOWS, REGARDLESS OF ORIGINALITY.

BRASS ZIPPERS ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE - COIL AND MOLDED ZIPPERS COST 30-45% less. THE MOLDED/MARINE ZIPPERS ARE THE LEAST EXPENSIVE.

FOR ZIPPERED UNITS ONLY - WE USE ORIGINAL FACTORY STYLE ZIPPERS AS SPECIFIED BY THE AUTOMAKER WHEN YOUR CAR WAS NEW. NOT ALL ZIPPERS ARE CREATED ALIKE AND NOT ALL AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS USE THE ORIGINAL STYLE ZIPPERS.

DUE TO DIFFERENT ZIPPER MANUFACTURERS TOLERANCES OR AFTERMARKET REPRODUCTION WINDOWS WE CANNOT GUARANTEE COMPATIBILITY OF SAME STYLE ZIPPERS, OR IF THE DAMAGED WINDOW ON YOUR CAR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN CHANGED AND DOES NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY STYLE ZIPPER.

CUSTOMERS WHO ORDER A WINDOW ASSEMBLY ONLY MIGHT FIND THAT OUR ZIPPERS ARE NOT IDENTICAL TO THEIR OLD WINDOW ZIPPERS. DEPENDING ON THE AGE OF YOUR CAR, THE WINDOW MAY HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT ZIPPER WAS SUPPLIED BY OTHER MANUFACTURERS OR WHAT STYLE IS ON YOUR OLD UNIT BEING REPLACED.

INSTALLERS MIGHT ATTEMPT TO CUT INSTALLATION TIME DOWN BY NOT REMOVING THE UPPER PART OF THE TOP FROM THE REAR BOW & ATTEMPTING TO RE-USE THE OLD UPPER HALF OF THE ZIPPER.

FOR BEST RESULTS - REMOVE THE WIRE-ON TRIM, RELEASE THE TOP FROM THE REAR BOW AND INSTALL THE WINDOW ASSEMBLY IN ITS ENTIRETY.  DO NOT DISCARD THE NEW UPPER HALF.

INSTALL THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY - USING THE UPPER HALF OF THE OLD ZIPPER COULD CAUSE ZIPPER FAILURE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RE USE ANY PORTION OF THE OLD ZIPPER - YOU MUST INSTALL THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY.
